In a move that is by any reading fairly scummy, Destiny 2 players are finding that the game’s first DLC has locked away previously-accessible content.
Previously, all players were able to run the Leviathan raid on all difficulties, including Prestige difficulty. Now that the game’s Curse of Osiris DLC is out, though, players can’t access the Prestige difficulty of the raid unless they own the DLC.
This isn’t a first for the series. Something similar happened in the first Destiny when it launched its DLC, most notably with The Taken King. Fans were upset at the time, and fans continue to be upset now that it’s clear the second game is following in the original’s footsteps.
The Curse of Osiris DLC adds a decent amount of content to the game, including a new raid mode, but players are understandably peeved about needing to pay $19.99 to unlock content that was previously available to anyone with the base game. Fans have taken to expressing their disappointment on the game’s subreddit, with one thread reaching over 1,300 comments, and on the official forums.
Whether these complaints will be enough to grab the attention of Bungie, however, remains to be seen.
